It is that time of the year when we are ready for Carnevale.
There are many famous celebrations of Carnevale around the world, and even in Italy there are a few. But amongst the most famous Carnivals in Italy and also around the world, for sure the most romantic,is the Carnival of Venice.
Experience this special time of year with a Carnival concert, or a dinner theatre performance, and stick around to explore all the rest Venice has to offer, from St. Mark's Basilica to a gondola ride.
We recommend an early morning arrival in Venice Airport Marco Polo. Private Vip Transfer by a Water Taxi to Hotel Danieli, a Luxury Collection Hotel, a curator of glamorous experiences. After our check-in we have the opportunity to visit the Atelier Tiepolo which moves to the hotel Danieli (1st floor) with all the costumes and accessories. The staff is ready to help us to choose the right costume. In the afternoon at 6.30 pm we have Private Transfer with a water taxi for Dinner to a typical Venetian Hosteria and at 9.00pm we are going to attend Vivaldi- Four seasons and Ballet, the Musica in Maschera performance.
After our Breakfast in Hotel we are going to meet our Knowledgeable guide and enjoy the fast-track access on a 3-hours walking tour that will lead us to discover the most important highlights in St.Mark’s Square: The Doge’s Palace, that was the centre of the political power in the city, and St.Mark’s Basilica, which represented the symbol of the religious and the spiritual power. Later on we are going to explore the flavors of Venice. We are going to visit a famous “bacaro” (wine bar) to sample regional wine and the popular Italian bar snacks known as “cicchetti”. In the afternoon we’ll enjoy ½ an hour gondola ride. In the evening Minuetto Dinner and Dance, a seated dinner includes a four-courses menu with wine created by the famous chef of the Danieli Hotel. Also a Dance Master will lead group dances and an opera singer will delights us between the different dances.
After our Breakfast at the hotel we’ll join Carnival Celebrations in St. Mark’s Square to attend the show of the’ Eagle “flight of Eagle, (Volo dell’Aquila) the spectacular flight from the famous bell tower to the stage in San Marco square. A Lady dressed as an eagle descends from Saint Mark’s bell tower to a stage on the opposite side of the square. Moreover, the stage will be used as a ballroom and welcome music and historic dance groups with beautiful period costumes. At 16.00pm we’ll participate to Dancing Chocolate the sweet event of the Venice Carnival in Costume held in a typical Campiello –small square- covered by a glass rooftop, of the hotel Splendid Venice. We’ll enjoy hot chocolate and Venetian biscuits. Rest of the afternoon free.
After our breakfast in Hotel, we are going to explore Burano island with a private water taxi. Burano is one of the islands in the Venice lagoon. It is famous for its colourful houses and lace-making. You can watch the skilled women working and see why it takes months to make even the smallest piece; each lace-maker specializes in a particular stitch. … Transfer to the Airport for our flight.
