At the foothill of the Acropolis Rock stretches the old neighborhood of Plaka. With its alleys – some of them continuously inhabited for thousands of years – and its mosaic of monuments dating to various eras, it is one of the most picturesque, historically important and, inevitably touristy districts of Athens.
Located on our secret place in Plaka, you’ll be able to sip your way through the various styles of Greek spirits, taste varieties from spirits such as Ouzo, Tsipouro and Mastic and see how the flavor changes.
With this tour, we will attempt to go beyond the façade, delving into the human aspect of this community that has remained vibrant for centuries and has inspired numerous Greek and foreign artists. After your pick -up from your location by your English speaking guide, we will enter the old alleys of Plaka, passing by the Lysicrates Monument, Tripodon street, old taverns, and well-known residences. We will walk next to the Rizokastro wall, climbing the stairs of the Anafiotika neighborhood to admire a panoramic view of Athens. Step by step, Plaka will lose its touristic edge and, despite its bustling streets, it will soon begin to feel like home. Then located on our secret places in Plaka, you’ll sip your way through the various styles of Greek spirits, taste varieties from spirits such as Ouzo, Tsipouro and Mastic and see how the flavor changes.
The tour will finish at around 10:00 pm and your English speaking guide will accompany you to your location.
